Celebration of Poetry continued

These are short but stunning in many ways.

Here is one I wrote, playing with words:

Some one said to “pen” a narrative. The opposite of pen is "open." To pen a narrative is to Tame it, put borders around it, control it. Versus write it with a pen. Pen it versus open it. Pen puts it down on paper, puts it in a form that is permanent.

Why pen when so many of us write on a laptop, anyway? It’s a little deceptive or delusional or dishonest (why do so many negative words start with d? Despicable. Devious. Dishonorable. Dastardly. Dull. Doddering. D has an automatic demanding, destructive, dogmatic, depressing sound to it. Yet am I damning to say that?
